Mission
At Amazing Grace Baptist Church, we understand mission as God's initiative in which the Church participates. Mission is therefore not limited to preaching alone. It includes the practical expression of God's love and care for the whole person and the wider community.
Mission for the Whole Person
Our understanding of mission is integral and holistic. We seek to respond to the spiritual, physical, social, economic and financial dimensions of human wellbeing. Through prayer, teaching, practical programmes, community engagement and support for others, we seek to demonstrate the love of Christ in meaningful ways.
Prayer for Mission
We regularly pray for individuals, churches and organisations involved in integral mission and for God's work around the world. We believe that mission begins with dependence on God and prayer.
Marriage & Family Life
Through our Marriage Pastures Programme, we provide opportunities for couples and families to strengthen relationships, reflect on Christian marriage and grow together.
Financial Freedom & Wealth Creation
We organise programmes such as our Financial Freedom and Creating Wealth God’s Way conferences to encourage financial prudence, responsible stewardship, entrepreneurship and sustainable economic wellbeing.
Health Talks
From time to time, we organise health talks that provide practical information and guidance on issues affecting individuals, families and the wider community. These programmes express our concern for physical health and wellbeing.
Supporting Missions in Ghana
Our commitment to mission extends beyond Hamburg. We support mission-related work in Ghana, including practical support for the Ghana Baptist Convention. One example has been our contribution towards the purchase and donation of an ambulance for mission and community service.
Prison Ministry
We seek to show God's grace through practical support for people in prison. This has included helping some prisoners who were unable to pay their fines, contributing to opportunities for their release and reintegration.
Supporting Migrants
Recognising the challenges faced migrants, we have provided practical support such as language classes for some migrants, helping them develop greater confidence and participate more fully in their new environment.
Holistic Mission
Our understanding of holistic mission reflects the biblical calling to love God and love our neighbour. We therefore seek to respond to people not only as spiritual beings, but as whole persons living within families, communities and society.
